Now the car is standing on its wheels.

The rear came out pretty nicely.

The front suspension also looks pretty nice.

Yeah, here it is, the rolling chassis. 🙂



Monitoring and controlling

Made a dashboard which, obviously, only covers the half where I will sit.

This design weighs less.

Shouldn’t need more than this on the panel.

The dashboard contains all necessary information, but weighs only 110 grams.

Most of the panels are now in place.

Don’t know if it is a good idea to put an engine here.

Things might get greasy… smiley

The floor has been mounted with countersunk rivets.

As “flush” as it gets.



Bling-bling

I want the chassis to look “old school”. That is why it is light gray and that is also why all panels are polished before mounting.

LOTS of rivets to “pop”. (And holes to drill.)

Almost 1000 in total.



Time for assembly

Finally the frame is painted.

The wishbones and the rollbar were painted with a special powder coating which looks very much like crome.

All home made parts and a lot of screws, bits has been zinced.



Air ducting

I made a frame inside the nose cone, just to force the air through the radiator.

Most people tend to mount this on the actual radiator, but then it is in the way when you want to work on the car. This solution is also much lighter, which is important.

Now the air will, most certainly, be forced through the radiator.
